Conventionally the size of an animal is measured diagonally from the mouth to the tail. The actual height of the animal is then made in proportion of this diagonal size. So, a 12" or 18" animal is not necessarily 12" or 18" in height when measured vertically. However, no two sculptures will ever have exactly the same measurements.
